Nokia’s first 3G phone based on Symbian OS
14 June 2004, London, UK – Symbian today announced that the Nokia 6630 is the eighth 3G mobile phone based on Symbian OS. The 6630 is Nokia’s first 3G phone to use Symbian OS and is the world’s smallest 3G megapixel phone launched to date.
The Nokia 6630 features:
1.23 million effective pixel camera
optimization for 3G (WCDMA), EDGE and 2G networks worldwide
digital MP3 music player
real-time video streaming
Symbian OS is the global industry standard operating system for advanced mobile phones. Symbian OS licensees account for over 85% of worldwide mobile phone sales and in 2003, more than 6.67million phones based on Symbian OS were shipped worldwide.
