WirelessDevNet.com Press Release
Spectel and fastmobile Partner to Provide Seamless Push-to-Conference Solution
ANDOVER, Mass., and CHICAGO, June 15 -- Spectel
( http://www.spectel.com ), the market leading provider of integrated
conferencing solutions, and fastmobile Inc. ( http://www.fastmobile.com ), a
leader in mobile instant communications, today announced a development
partnership that provides seamless interoperability between Spectel's mobile
conferencing solution, MobileConneXion(TM) and the push-to-conference and
Instant Messaging capabilities of fastchat. This agreement provides push-to-
talk over cellular (PoC) users with a convenient way to instantly locate and
engage colleagues in a full-featured push-to-conference voice session from any
fastmobile-powered push-to-talk device.
The solution combines fastchat, a mobile communications solution that
merges global push-to-talk functionality and advanced multimedia messaging
features, with Spectel MobileConneXion, a comprehensive mobile collaboration
solution, empowering users with seamless push-to-conference capabilities from
a push-to-talk dialog. Additionally, this highly versatile solution allows
users to initiate instant conference calls among any combination of mobile or
fixed line telephones from their push-to-talk buddy list. A complementary
element in voice services, this PoC-based conferencing solution provides a
simple user interface that increases voice minutes, drives conferencing
revenue, and reduces customer churn.
"Spectel is dedicated to providing the industry-leading voice and web
conferencing solution for mobile operators," said Colm Saunders, general
manager of US operations of Spectel. "Spectel's comprehensive mobile
collaboration solution combined with the range of IM and PoC capabilities from
fastmobile, provides users with a simple way to seamlessly launch a full-
featured, low latency voice conference from any fastmobile-powered push-to-
talk device."
"We are delighted by what this combination delivers to our mobile operator
customers," said Kang Lee, president and CEO of fastmobile. "This partnership
creates a rich, differentiated service offering with strong end user appeal
within both the enterprise and consumer markets, fueling incremental revenue
growth in data and voice services."
