MECA AND IPSH! CONNECT U.S. CELL PHONES & PC MESSENGERS INTO NEW PRODUCT
(LOS ANGELES, CA) – Two emerging forms of media in the U.S. have joined forces in a remarkable partnership merging mobile and pc communication. Instant-messaging firm MECA Communications and Mobile Messaging firm ipsh! have co-developed a new product that allows PC-based users the ability to chat with friends across MSN, YAHOO!, ICQ, and AOL while also sending text messages from the same application to mobile phones across the United States.
The new Messenger Interoperable Carrier Interoperable (MICI) Platform is the first partnership of its kind as it unites roughly 120M PC messenger users with approximately 100M cell phone users into one application.
The new product was featured in Los Angeles at the IHollywood Forum on Advertising known as Impact 2004. Both firms are considered pioneers in emerging communication technology and were invited as speakers at this year’s event.
“MECA strives to connect people regardless of device or messenger and MICI is a fine example of that vision becoming reality,” states MECA President Bruce Klickstein.
The MICI product is currently available in MECA’s 4.0 version
