MACROSPACE LAUNCHES I-MODE GAMES CHANNEL FOR KPN SUBSCRIBERS

London, UK – 10 March, 2004 – Macrospace, the global provider of mobile games and mobile gaming services, today announced the launch of its dedicated i-mode games channel for KPN Mobile subscribers. KPN Mobile’s i-mode service has over 1 million subscribers spanning the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. The Macrospace i-mode channel is available initially to subscribers in the Netherlands, and will expand to encompass the other regions in the coming weeks.

Subscribers to the Macrospace games channel pay a small monthly fee in return for unlimited downloads of featured games and other content, with new games added every month. Macrospace’s i-mode channel already includes a number of its bestselling mobile games including Dragon Island, Alpha Wing and Goldminer.

Macrospace’s games channel has been available to i-mode users on the WIND network in Italy since December 2003. Macrospace is amongst the first wave of European companies launching dedicated games channels on i-mode to compliment it’s existing distribution network. Macrospace is also the first mobile games publisher to push connected features such as online high scores and multiplayer gaming on Europe’s emerging i-mode networks; i-mode users will be able to post their best scores to online score tables, and see how they compare with other I-mode gamers and players on other networks around the world.

“Today’s launch shows the growing demand for innovative and exciting mobile games, “ said Kristian Segerstråle, Head of Products and Services at Macrospace. “Since deploying our first i-mode service in December we have had a great response from i-mode users, and I’m confident that gamers in the Netherlands will be just as enthusiastic about Macrospace’s great games and mobile content.”

I-mode was originally developed and launched by NTT DoCoMo in Japan. To date there are over 40 million i-mode subscribers worldwide, with over 3000 companies offering products, services and content via i-mode. KPN Mobile was the first European operator to licence i-mode from NTT DoCoMo, launching its European service in March 2002.
