Delphi’s MobileAria selects Telcontar’s spatial software for FleetOutlook™
San Jose, CA – March 17, 2004 – Telcontar, a leading supplier of software and related applications for location-based services (LBS) today announced that MobileAria, a subsidiary of Delphi, has selected Telcontar’s Drill Down Server™ as the spatial platform for its FleetOutlook fleet management system. By using Telcontar’s DDS, MobileAria can now support real-time tracking, mobile resource position display, and geofencing and management reporting based on the movement and locations of vehicles, containers or other assets. Selection of the DDS platform also permits MobileAria to support advanced spatial operations such as navigation and guidance or real-time traffic in the future.
MobileAria’s FleetOutlookTM is a Web-based end-to-end fleet management and security system that helps provide fleet operators real-time management of their overall operations. The system enables fleet operators to improve asset utilization, reduce costs, enhance vehicle security, improve communications and assists them in meeting regulatory requirements, receiving real-time diagnostics and monitoring vehicle locations.
“MobileAria is a key player in the growing market for fleet management and homeland security-oriented mobile asset management,” said Dave Wood, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Telcontar. “The FleetOutlook system offers highly effective and scalable applications for companies that need to quickly improve management and security of their mobile resources worldwide. We are proud to work with a company that is leading the way in this critical application.”
“We chose Telcontar’s technology as a part of our system because it is a proven technology developer in the LBS arena,” said Sachal Gidwani, president of MobileAria. “Telcontar’s long list of successful customer deployments and the extensive capabilities of its software were a deciding factor. We look forward to a successful relationship with Telcontar and to extending our product offerings using the DDS in the future.”
