WirelessDevNet.com Press Release

Top Wireless Companies Leverage Tele Atlas Data

MENLO PARK, Calif.--March 18, 2004-- Tele Atlas, a worldwide leading provider of digital map data and location content, today announced the availability of additional dynamic location content to augment its existing nationwide traffic incident with speed and flow data for major U.S. markets. Tele Atlas has added speed and flow data to extend its position as the leading aggregator of location-based, real-time nationwide traveler information. This data provides real-time information on traffic speeds and estimated travel times for major U.S. roads. The real-time speed, flow and incident traffic information contain location codes that allow the data to be referenced directly to the intersections of roads in Tele Atlas' map. Companies can then easily integrate the road maps and the traffic information to build compelling applications. Location-based services (LBS) applications and wireless companies are especially suited to take advantage of this data since this type of real-time, dynamic data is of great interest to wireless subscribers.

George Fink, COO of Tele Atlas, stated, "Customers have validated our mapping and dynamic location content offering, and have pushed us to add new dynamic content to our maps such as speed and flow to continue reaching additional subscribers."

Joseph J. Berry, vice president of GIS and LBS for Tele Atlas in North America, commented, "Our data is being used for a number of major wireless deployments in Europe and North America. In addition to three of the top European wireless operators -- H3G, Vodafone and T-Mobile Traffic -- top U.S. companies including Microsoft, AT&T Wireless, Cingular Wireless, Verizon Wireless, U.S. Cellular and ALLTEL are utilizing Tele Atlas' mapping or to provide their subscribers with the data they need to commute more efficiently and travel more effectively."

"These companies are demonstrating their market leadership by deploying wireless data services that combine real-time information with mapping and other location data. We are thrilled to be able to offer these and other leading companies content that their subscribers can now access wirelessly and that will contribute to the adoption of wireless location-based services and applications," said Alain De Taeye, CEO of Tele Atlas.

Wireless solutions and LBS applications that are leveraging Tele Atlas location content will be displayed at Tele Atlas' booth #3029 during CTIA Wireless 2004 in Atlanta, March 22-24, 2004.
