Ekahau Planner automates the off-site Wi-Fi network planning process
Saratoga, CA - March 25th, 2004 -- Ekahau, the leading provider of accurate Wi-Fi positioning solutions and site survey tools, today announced the Ekahau Planner(tm) Wi-Fi network planning software tool.
Ekahau Planner presents a completely new approach for easy Wi-Fi network design and deployment. It can be used to intelligently plan initial access point network placement, even before visiting the installation site. An easy to use drag-and-drop GUI is included for access point placement on a facility floor map, with instant visual results on RF-propagation and a variety of performance parameters.

Ekahau Planner can be purchased as an optional software module for the new ESS version 2.1. Other ESS software modules include Ekahau GPS and Ekahau Reporter, released already last year. The ESS software family is targeted at wireless VARs, system integrators, enterprise IT and network managers, as well as anyone else planning and installing Wi-Fi networks.
They allow you to visually plan and map out network coverage patterns,
and to optimize network performance and connectivity.
The Ekahau Planner will be shipping to customers by April 20th 2004, with a list price starting at $950.00. The new ESS version 2.1, which is required for the Ekahau Planner installation, has also the target release date of April 20th.
