Aligo Announces Mobile Applications Support for Sun Microsystems' Solaris(TM)Operating System

CTIA WIRELESS 2004, ATLANTA -- Aligo Inc., a global leader in mobile software solutions, this week announced that with Aligo's award-winning mobile platform and Sun Microsystems' Solaris(TM) 9 Operating System (OS) for SPARC and x86 systems, customers can benefit from one of the industry's quickest path for mobile enterprise application deployment. The Sun infrastructure and Aligo's software solutions for mobile applications provide everything needed for enterprises to design, build and deploy any back office enterprise application on a mobile device.

Customers will benefit from a lower cost out-of-the-box solution for real-time (connected) or synchronized (occasionally connected) access to mission critical data in the field. Aside from reduced costs, the availability of the Aligo solution for the secure, predictable and reliable Solaris OS allows customers to embrace mobility while avoiding added complexity by maintaining a single operating system in their data centers. Today's announcement provides customers with choice and flexibility, allowing them to deploy solutions on either x86 or SPARC systems.

Aligo's Omni Platform is a Java(TM) 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE(TM)) rapid delivery mobile application platform providing an easy way to mobile enable any enterprise application -- whether packaged Enterprise Resource Management (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or custom application. The Omni Studio, part of the Omni Platform, generates connected (real-time) and disconnected (synchronized) applications for Java(TM) 2 Micro Edition (J2ME(TM) and .NET on network of choice, carrier of choice and device of choice. In addition, Aligo offers pre-built mobile applications for groupware, sales and field force management applications.

"Sun works closely with partners like Aligo -- with strong mobile enterprise application expertise," said Manish Bhuptani, director, Network Services, Sun Microsystems, Inc. "Aligo understands and leverages both mobile infrastructure and enterprise applications to efficiently design, build and deploy mission-critical applications to any mobile device in record time. Aligo and Sun Microsystems provide an industry leading comprehensive solution critical for our customers such as ChoicePoint, who need to extend the boundaries of corporate data to where it is most valuable -- in the field to better serve their customers."

"Aligo and Sun continue to execute on their joint mission to deliver a comprehensive, scalable and simple mobility solution to the marketplace," said Robert Smith, president and chief executive officer of Aligo. "With the low cost, support, parity and compatibility of the Solaris OS and the speed and ease of Aligo's mobile platform, every enterprise -- large or small -- has the opportunity to build or mobile enable their enterprise applications."
