Comverse Announces Preloaded Visual Voicemail On Siemens SX1 Symbian OS Handsets
HANNOVER, GERMANY -- Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), and the world’s leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication services, this week announced a joint project implementing the Comverse Visual Voicemail (VVM) handset client on Siemens’ new Symbian OS-based SX1 mobile handsets. These handsets are being supplied to operators with complete VVM functionality preloaded.
Comverse VVM includes an intuitive visual interface that makes message retrieval and management more efficient, and enables users to forward and respond to a voice message by pressing a single button using the subscribers’ personal address book. Comverse VVM also offers a new non-intrusive communication mode - “Record and Send.” Using Record and Send, subscribers can record and send new voice messages directly to individuals or groups without causing the phone to ring.
“Siemens is a leading vendor of handsets in Europe and around the world,” said Benny Einhorn, Chief Marketing Officer of Comverse. “Embedding our messaging and communication clients on Siemens SX1 phones demonstrates market interest and awareness of Visual Voicemail and Record and Send.”
