NAVTEQ(TM) Maps Fuel Mio Technology's New Mio 168 Pocket PC

CHICAGO, May 3 -- NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital map data for in-vehicle, Internet/wireless, government and business solutions, is enabling the Mio168 Pocket PC with NAVTEQ(TM) maps of North America. Developed by Taiwanese manufacturer MiTAC and marketed by Mio Technology in North America, the Mio 168 is the first Windows Mobile PDA that integrates a GPS receiver and advanced navigation software into a compact, all-in-one device.

Mio Technology leveraged NAVTEQ maps for its Mio 168 because of their quality, reliability, and accuracy. NAVTEQ maps are infused with more than 150 attributes such as turn restrictions, one-way streets and street signs -- key pieces of information that make travel easier and more efficient. Mio 168 users also benefit from access to the extensive points-of-interest categories available through NAVTEQ maps including restaurants, hotels, airports, tourist attractions, and many others.

Doubling as a navigation system and a full-featured Pocket PC, the Mio168 offers turn-by-turn route guidance -- both audio and visual -- throughout the continental US, Hawaii and Canada and also includes personal information management features as well as media playback including MP3 support. The Mio 168 utilizes a hotkey that allows users to switch between GPS and PDA functions with a single key press. The product also comes equipped with a car charger and car mounting kit at no extra charge.

"As we began the product development process, it quickly became clear how critical freshness and accuracy of map data was going to be to building a superior navigation product. NAVTEQ's reputation as a map data and content provider along with the range of excellent products and services it enables made it our clear choice of digital map data providers," said Leo Lo, Director of Sales and Marketing, Mio Technology.

"Mio Technology is a forward-looking technology company with an impressive line of products and services being sold globally. Being selected by Mio Technology to enable one of their newest products validates yet again the quality and excellence of NAVTEQ Maps, which represent the foundation of leading navigation and location-based solutions across a variety of industries and around the world," commented George Filley, Vice President and General Manager, Consumer Business Unit.
