Vettro Launches First Mobile Application Designed Specifically for Small and Midsize HVAC
NEW YORK--April 29, 2004-- Vettro Mobile Service Contractor Enables Wilkins Mechanical to Leverage Capabilities Previously Available Only For Larger Enterprises
Vettro, a leading provider of mobile sales and field service applications, today announced the general availability of Vettro's Mobile Service Contractor application for small and medium HVAC and plumbing businesses.
Vettro integrates with SuccessWare, a provider of back-end systems for heating, cooling and plumbing companies, delivering a comprehensive mobile solution that connects field technicians directly with their company's SuccessWare21(R) dispatch and billing system.
Vettro's Mobile Service Contractor application runs on Java(TM) Technology-enabled wireless phones from Motorola, which are widely adopted by HVAC technicians, and allows field technicians to communicate with their company's back-end system in real-time, virtually eliminating traditional paper-based processes and dependence on the central office for mission-critical information.
"Vettro is successfully leveraging our expertise serving field service organizations within global enterprises and providing small and midsize customers with a highly sophisticated mobile application," said Matt Finkelstein, Vettro's Director of Product Management. "Our proven track record building highly sophisticated mobile applications, coupled with SuccessWare's industry experience, ensures the success of this application."
Technicians at Wilkins Mechanical Services were one of the first in the industry to begin using Vettro's application and are now able to access detailed job information previously available only through calling the central office, including:
-- On-site service address and point-to-point directions;
-- Customer contact information;
-- Replacement parts and equipment details;
-- Service instructions;
-- Service history, including previous work done; and,
-- Agreements, warranties, and future visits required.
Vettro Mobile Service Contractor also provides Wilkins Mechanical the option of using Symbol bar code scanners attached to the phone to accurately track parts as they are used, and streamline the inventory management processes. Additionally, technicians will be able to accept credit card payments and provide customers with a detailed receipt on the spot by connecting credit card reader/printer combination devices to the phones. This capability alone is expected to provide measurable benefits to the company by enabling technicians to verify payments and take advantage of "card-present" transaction discounts from its bank.
"In the few months since the deployment of Vettro's application, we've seen immediate benefits to our business," said Bob Wilkins, President, Wilkins Mechanical Services. "Each job used to require four to six lengthy calls between our technicians and the office, and now we're averaging one or two short calls. Additionally, as technicians are sending accurate and valid billing information from the field directly to our billing system, our office staff has also become much more productive. We've been extremely impressed with how well suited Vettro's application is for HVAC companies"
Wilkins Mechanical Services is not alone. To date more than 30 companies are under contract to deploy the application.
The application's appeal for small and midsize HVAC companies is pretty simple--it offers a cost-effective way to maximize revenue-generating time for both field and office workers and minimize costs associated with inefficiencies, such as administrative tasks, lost parts, and invalid transactions.
