WirelessDevNet.com Press Release
‘BlueSkyFrog for Telstra’ launches today
BlueSkyFrog and Telstra have joined forces to offer Telstra customers access to some of the most popular local and overseas entertainment available on mobile phones.
Legion Interactive Chief Executive Officer, David Burden, said this is the first time an Australian mobile carrier has partnered with a branded content provider in this way and means that Telstra’s post paid customers can now access regularly updated, world-class content for their mobile phones.
“The ‘BlueSkyFrog for Telstra’ page on Telstra.com gives Telstra customers exclusive access to exceptional local and international mobile content, including the latest wallpapers, ringtones, logos and Java games,” Mr Burden said.
“The web page features innovative, easily navigated fresh information, reflecting the exciting, up-to-the-minute content being offered. A WAP site is now available as well allowing Telstra customers to browse and purchase content directly from their mobile handset.”
Mr Burden said the popularity of mobile phone applications is growing as consumers become more aware of the endless applications for mobiles beyond voice calls and SMS.
“As new mobile phone models emerge with enhanced capabilities, the demand for mobile content continues to surge,” Mr Burden said.
Telstra’s Head of Youth Segment, Matthew Willsher, said Telstra was excited to be working with BlueSkyFrog to offer a very attractive proposition to its customers.
“The relationship with BlueSkyFrog in effect doubles Telstra's already strong mobile entertainment offering,” Mr Willsher said.
“We believe the new BlueSkyFrog content will be particularly appealing to the youth market who see their mobile phones as much more than voice devices and are looking at ways to personalise them.”
From today, Telstra customers can visit for the latest wallpapers, international and local Java game titles, 3,000 Monophonic ringtones, 500 Polyphonic ringtones, a growing number of Real Tones (eg dogs barking, babies crying) and True Tones (real clips of music for download), with video and other applications to be launched shortly. Content will be billed directly to the customer’s Telstra bill.
