WirelessDevNet.com Press Release
Triton PCS Selects TechnoCom's LocationAssurance Manager(TM)
LOS ANGELES--May 13, 2004--TechnoCom, the leading provider of
wireless location Operations Support Systems (OSS) and Business
Support System (BSS) solutions, announced today that Triton PCS has
selected the company's LocationAssurance Manager(TM) (LAM) as its
automated wireless E911 location network performance management and
reporting platform. Triton PCS is now the first carrier in the United
States to deploy a real-time, automated wireless location performance
management platform.
Responding to the needs of carriers for an automated, real-time
location OSS solution, LAM validates and certifies Phase II E911
service quality by conducting, correlating and summarizing location
test and performance data. LAM provides a secure, reliable and
scalable solution that allows carriers to comply with FCC-mandated
testing requirements without impacting either network operations or
the public safety agencies that receive and respond to E911 calls.
"LAM is the only fully automated E911 location OSS solution
available today that enables end-to-end location system performance
management and accuracy testing. This state-of-the-art solution
promises to provide substantial savings over traditional,
labor-intensive methods of location service maintenance," said Glen
Robinson, Triton PCS Sr. Vice President of Technology.
"Many of our markets are deployed with Phase II location
technology and LAM offers real-time visibility into our location
system, helping us deliver superior levels of services. Additionally,
LAM is fully compliant with FCC regulatory OET testing and reporting
requirements," Robinson added.
"TechnoCom continues to focus on placing greater control of
location network testing and analysis in the hands of carriers,"
stated Masoud Motamedi, President of TechnoCom. "Service providers are
seeking an automated, location-centric OSS solution to deliver
decision-ready analysis critical to reducing operating costs and
meeting their business and regulatory challenges. LAM meets these
criteria."
Scalable, reliable and secure, LAM assesses the performance of all
commercially deployed location systems across all network
air-interfaces including CDMA, GSM, TDMA and iDEN(TM). The LAM
Platform automates location performance analysis at each stage of the
location process including at switches; Positioning Determination
Equipment (PDEs); Mobile Positioning Center (MPCs or GMLCs); and
wireless data and voice components.
