MACROSPACE AND LINKTONE TO OFFER MOBILE GAMES TO MILLIONS OF CHINA MOBILE SUBSCRIBERS
London, UK– 19 May, 2004 – Macrospace, the global provider of mobile games and mobile gaming services, and Linktone (NASDAQ: LTON), a provider of entertainment-oriented wireless value-added services to China's fast-growing mobile market today announced a partnership agreement to target the growing Chinese market for mobile games. Under the agreement, Linktone will aggregate, market and distribute Macrospace’s diverse portfolio of interactive mobile games via MonternetTM, the mobile content channel operated by China Mobile Communication Corporation (China Mobile), China’s largest mobile network operator.
Macrospace and Linktone will work together to develop Chinese language versions of a selection of Macrospace’s bestselling mobile games including the popular action titles Alpha Wing, Crash ‘N’ Burn, Dragon Island and Caveman.
“Even though China has 280 million cell phones in use today, that represents only a 20% mobile penetration rate. To be part of such a dynamic market is hugely exciting, and we look forward to working closely with Linktone to promote Macrospace’s innovative, exciting mobile games,” said Yeo Han Yong, Head of Business Development (Asia Pacific) at Macrospace.

Monternet, which fuses the mobile world and the Internet, is a data and content service launched by China Mobile in 2001. It serves as a content distribution platform for China Mobile’s 170 million-plus subscribers. By using Monternet, subscribers can download content and services including mobile games, shopping, entertainment, picture messaging and real-time stock market updates.
