Crisp Wireless And Video Design Software Team Up To Deliver Innovative Wireless Solutions

NEW YORK, NY (November 4, 2004) - Crisp Wireless, the company that enables media, entertainment, and e-commerce companies to create new sources of revenue from distribution of content and interactive media solutions to millions of mobile handsets, and Video Design Software (VDS), have teamed up to offer an integrated suite of applications for wireless mobile communications and broadcast television automation.

The integrated solution provides broadcasters with complete, end-to-end capabilities that enhance the viewer’s experience as well as create new sources of revenue for broadcasters via the growing wireless industry. VDS is a leading developer of modular software products that manage, streamline and automate content and plug-in products delivery & playback for the broadcast, cable television, internet, and post production markets.

“I am really excited about our collaboration with Crisp Wireless”, said Larry Mincer, President of VDS. “Our efforts will provide our customers with a complete automated solution that bridges the gap and simplifies the process between the technologies of wireless mobile communications and broadcast television automation.”

These new integrated solutions will allow broadcasters and advertisers to tightly integrate wireless communications with many aspects of the television broadcast facility. Consumers will be able to receive information and interact with television programming and content including playing commercial spots. Information about scheduled content being broadcast from any particular channel could be provided to any wireless customer. In addition, consumer feedback can directly influence the program schedule. Furthermore, TV viewers will be able to stay in touch with favorite TV shows anytime and anywhere.

The benefits of the combined solution includes:

  • Branding and Titling used in the automated generation of titles for music videos and other formats

  • “Coming Ups” - Provide viewers with scheduled content, and automated network, show and sponsor logo generation.

  • NewsTicker - Inserts a continuous ticker-type crawl into programming segments.

  • Text To Air - Allows the TV station to quickly approve and insert the display of Text Messaging from emails or SMS/MMS into a TV program.

  • Tally To Air - Drives live mobile and online poll results to air, usually as live update regions on a graphics system.

  • GameTrak - A suite of applications for the display of a live game scoreboard and schedule information including real time game clock, game phase and score along with game sponsor insertion.

  • GameBug - A product that provides broadcasters and arena managers with a suite of integrated graphics controllers for displaying up-to-date sporting event scores in a "bug" format.

“The marriage of TV and wireless is creating new ways for viewers to enjoy their favorite television shows, and Crisp Wireless has found a great partner in VDS, with its strong TV technology experience and considerable industry presence, to pursue the evolving opportunities in the convergence of media and wireless,” said CEO of Crisp Wireless, Boris Fridman
