MEA Announces Mobile Impact™ Awards Finalists
Wakefield, Mass. -- November 16, 2004 -- The Mobile Enterprise Alliance (MEA), a global advocacy group promoting the business benefits of workforce mobility to enterprise end users and decision makers, today announced fifteen finalists in the 2004 MEA Mobile Impact™ Awards program. Finalists are enterprise information technology (IT) departments at the following companies: American Red Cross, National Capital Chapter; Biogen Idec; Cubist Pharmaceuticals; Ferrellgas; Grant Thornton; HeyAnita; Maison van den Boer; Ohio Valley Supply; Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care; Pitney Bowes; Scudder Distributors; Seating Concepts; State of South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services; Valor Computerized Systems; and VT Rotterdam/Uniloyd.
"We received a large number of submissions in five different awards categories and are extremely pleased with the quality of the submissions and the case studies that support these fifteen finalists," said Daniel Taylor, managing director, MEA. "Taken together, these case studies and the Mobile Impact™ Awards program depict a flourishing and innovative mobile enterprise marketplace. We hope that enterprise managers in IT departments worldwide will be able to learn from these case studies and build upon the successes of their peers."
ABOUT THE MOBILE IMPACT™ AWARDS
The 2004 Mobile Impact™ Awards will be given in five different categories, including: Cost Effective Extended Enterprise Computing and Connectivity, Field Force, Greatest Foresight in Mobile Management, Mobile Office, and Most Pragmatic Mobile Security Solution. Entries were scored on a 50-point scale by a panel of independent judges including Kara Gattine from SearchMobileComputing.com and Eugene Signorini from Yankee Group. The finalists represent submissions with an average raw score of at least 60%. Winners will be announced at a reception in Santa Clara, California on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 and successful case studies will be highlighted in a special advertising section to be published in the January issues of Fortune and Business 2.0 magazines.
