InnoPath Launches Commercial OTA Update Offering For Linux Handsets

London, UK and San Jose, Calif.- November 29, 2004 - InnoPath Software (formerly DoOnGo Technologies), the industry leader in over-the-air (OTA) mobile device software management, today announced the first commercial Linux OTA firmware update offering, enabling InnoPath to expand and promote the value of OTA update-ready technology to the Linux OS market. The release has been shipped to InnoPath's customers in Japan for commercial deployment. InnoPath's DeltaUpgrade Plus(tm) OTA solution now includes the ability to support file systems on handsets including Linux compressed file systems and NAND flash technology. Benefits to handset manufacturers include faster time-to-market and cost savings through deploying cable based and OTA services to mobile devices using the Linux operating system.

IDC projects that the Linux OS market will grow 83 percent to $44.5 million in 2004, and to $114.6 million in 2007. According to Gartner, there will be a huge growth in mobile devices running Linux, especially high-end handsets manufactured locally in Asia.

InnoPath is the only over-the-air mobile device management company actively updating handset software in commercial deployments and is committed to providing its customers with the most open framework for delivering advanced mobile data services. With DeltaUpgrade Plus, wireless operators and handset manufacturers cannot only apply innovative technology to handsets; they can reduce costs, get new handsets to market on time and increase subscriber loyalty.

"The mobile device industry is rapidly adopting Linux as one platform to deliver innovative feature-rich handsets into the market," said Dr. Luosheng Peng, CEO and co-founder of InnoPath. "The new offering demonstrates our commitment to support open source operating systems and extends the adoption of InnoPath's DeltaUpgrade Plus OTA solution to handset manufacturers worldwide including those who use the Linux OS."
