Just For Laughs Goes Mobile
MONTREAL, Canada – October 6, 2004 – The world’s largest comedy festival just got portable. Airborne Entertainment Inc., the branded mobile entertainment industry leader today announced an exclusive partnership that will bring Just For Laughs to wireless for the first time ever. The multi-year deal will deliver a hilarious suite of wireless entertainment as unique and visionary as the Just For Laughs Festival itself.
Established in 1983, Just For Laughs is the largest and most prestigious comedy event in the world. This past summer the Festival attracted over 1.7 million spectators to 526 indoor and 1600 outdoor shows at over 30 venues. Just For Laughs is also seen on television in over 100 countries and on over 70 airlines. Long known as a breeding ground for the planet’s top talent, the Festival has hosted comedy luminaries such as Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Carrey, Tim Allen, Drew Carey, Dave Chappelle, Jon Stewart, Ray Romano, Kevin James and many others, often before they rose to international stardom.
Much like the Festival itself, Just For Laughs Mobile is brimming with eye-popping, gut-busting features. Users can turn their phones into personal screening rooms with Just For Laughs and Just For Laughs Gags videos, choose from a wide variety of custom-made wallpapers and ringtones or simply enjoy a joke in the downloadable Just For Laughs Mobile Comedy Fest. All content is constantly refreshed, ensuring that the hilarity never stops!
“Just For Laughs has expanded from presenting the Festival to producing live tours and television shows around the world. It was a natural evolution for our content to become available on mobile devices,” said Just For Laughs Chief Operating Officer Bruce Hills.
The deal is also a natural fit for Airborne President, Andy Nulman, who served as CEO of Just For Laughs for 15 years.
