WirelessDevNet.com Press Release

Bonusprint to Launch Photo Sharing And Printing Service For Camera-Phones

1st September, 2004, UK - Bonusprint, the UK's leading mail order photo processor, today announced it is working with Cognima, the effortless mobile services company, to launch a new camera-phone service, Bonusprint Mobile. The service, due to be launched in November, will allow phone snappers to store, share and print their photos.

Customers can upload photos taken on camera-phones with a single key press to the Bonusprint website where they will be able to order a print or share it with their friends and family. Users will be charged £1.99 a month for the service for which they will get sharing and storage space for their photos. The service will be available on supported Symbian handsets on all the UK GSM mobile networks.

Cognima's photo upload solution, Cognima Snap(tm), provides the technology to upload images of any size from camera-phones to the Bonusprint website with a single key press on the phone. "Now that megapixel camera-phones are available we believe people will want to store, share and print the high quality images they are taking on these phones," said Anthony Ward, managing director of Bonusprint. "Cognima's photo upload system is the key to making Bonusprint Mobile as easy to use as a point and shoot camera. Without this ease of use such a service will never become mass-market."

"We are delighted to announce Bonusprint as our first Cognima Snap customer. Bonusprint has made big investments in digital camera photo printing and was one of the first companies to launch web-based digital printing services worldwide. It is once again leading the world by supporting effortless upload from camera-phones," said Simon East, CEO Cognima. "Bonusprint Mobile will set new standards for ease of use and image quality for camera-phone users. At last consumers will have a real use for the cameras in their phones."

Cognima recently launched the service following trials with a major UK operator revealing that Cognima Snap increased the number of photos uploaded from camera-phones to online photo portals by 14 fold. Cognima Snap supports the new generation of megapixel camera-phones such as the Nokia 7610.
