FOX Sports Interactive Media And Sorrent Debut Suite of Football Products For Mobile Phones
SAN MATEO, Calif. & LA JOLLA, Calif.--Sept. 9, 2004--
Today at DEMOmobile, FOX Sports Interactive Media and Sorrent, Inc., a leading creator and global publisher of mobile entertainment, unveiled a new suite of entertainment products -- FOX Sports Mobile, FOX Sports Football '05 and FOX Sports Fantasy Football -- which will launch in conjunction with an advertising campaign beginning next week. The television campaign, which focuses on FOX Sports Mobile, is the first of its kind by a wireless gaming publisher and speaks to the mass market appeal of mobile entertainment.
"Mobile entertainment has entered the mainstream," said Jill Braff, vice president of marketing, Sorrent. "The ad campaign for FOX Sports Mobile is a direct response to the popularity of mobile sports entertainment. Both video game companies and wireless carriers have historically been among the largest national advertisers, and as mobile gaming continues to penetrate the mass market, Sorrent and FOX Sports will be there to educate consumers about the games and entertainment available to them on their cell phones."
Sorrent's 30-second spot was developed by Duncan/Channon and promotes FOX Sports Mobile, which will be unveiled today at DEMOmobile with FOX Sports Football '05 and FOX Sports Fantasy Football.
"I invited Sorrent back to DEMOmobile this year in recognition of the company's innovation and industry leadership," said Chris Shipley, executive producer of the DEMO Conferences. "Sorrent and FOX Sports set the standard for mobile sports entertainment then surpassed it with this newest release."
This new suite of football games and entertainment will be available on Java and BREW-enabled phones from all U.S. carriers and will offer fans:
FOX Sports Mobile - The mobile hub for the sports fan on the go with customized delivery of vital information and live updates including news, scores, standings, and odds for all major professional and college sports. FOX Sports Mobile's Game Trax gives fans play-by-play graphical displays of live games.
FOX Sports Football '05 - With a complete top-down game and more than 100 offensive plays to choose from, this game is the ultimate mobile football adrenaline rush. The game's special features include flaming passes and speed bursts, changing weather conditions, and Season Mode, which allows players to custom-create their own team and play a full season.
FOX Sports Fantasy Football - This standalone mobile fantasy sports product requires no PC integration so fans can take it with them wherever they go. This product equips fans with a multi-million dollar budget to buy and sell NFL players and field a weekly roster, sends key updates directly to fans on their mobile phones, and calculates weekly scores based on their rosters' performance. Weekly high-score winners take home a $100 gift certificate to spend at FOXSports.com.
