Contec Launches Hornet AcceleratorT & HornetT Version 3.4
Vancouver, Canada, September 9, 2004 – Contec Innovations (TSX Venture
Exchange – Symbol “BUZ”) today announces the release of Hornet Accelerator
developer resources, and Version 3.4 software for Contec’s Hornet mobile
service delivery platform.
Hornet Accelerator enables Hornet operators to manage and support
development of world-class mobile applications using their Hornet systems.
It provides the tools to make application development on the Hornet faster
and easier than ever before. Hornet Accelerator will provide Contec with
the means to accumulate a critical mass of compelling mobile data
applications that the Company can offer as part of its complete solution.
Perry Quan, Contec’s President and CEO comments, “The Accelerator is an
important step on our way to ‘opening the floodgates’, bringing a large
number of third party applications into the wireless space and as such,
giving mobile operators the choice they are looking for.”
Hornet 3.4 software includes new enhancements that enable mobile operators
to classify applications and provide their subscribers with a structured
directory of all available applications. The operator’s wireless
subscribers will be able to self-subscribe and try new applications before
signing up for these new services.
Mr. Quan adds, “With Hornet 3.4, applications are now more visible to the
operator’s mobile phone subscribers. If subscribers can’t discover the
applications and try them out, they won’t get excited about them and won’t
sign up and pay for them. The enhancements to Hornet 3.4 will help mobile
operators generate more revenue by putting more applications in front of
their subscribers, making the Hornet more attractive to mobile operators and
service providers.”
