QUALCOMM and CMP Media Announce Finalists for 2004 3G cdmA-List Awards
SAN DIEGO, Sept. 16 -- QUALCOMM Incorporated
(Nasdaq: QCOM), pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access
(CDMA) digital wireless technology, and CMP Media, a leading integrated media
company providing essential information and marketing services to the entire
technology spectrum, today announced the finalists for the second annual 3G
cdmA-List(TM) Awards. After receiving a host of innovative nominations from a
wide range of companies, public agencies and non-profit organizations,
18 finalists were selected. From these finalists, a total of six winners will
be chosen and recognized at a private reception in San Francisco on October
25, at CTIA Wireless IT(R) & Entertainment 2004.
CMP Media is presenting the awards program, sponsored by QUALCOMM. The
program will honor the most innovative and successful commercially deployed
enterprise wireless data solutions based on third-generation (3G) CDMA2000(R)
1X or 1xEV-DO technology.
This year's finalists represent diverse industries, including financial
services, healthcare, travel, technology, public safety and other service

The second annual 3G cdmA-List Awards honors enterprises, public agencies
and non-profit organizations for their best-of-class mobility implementations.
A nominee's wireless data deployment will be judged on creativity and
innovation, overall business impact, and quantifiable return-on-investment
(ROI). This year, the program added a new award category to recognize a
groundbreaking implementation of CDMA2000 1xEV-DO, which has been available in
San Diego and Washington, D.C., since October 2003.
A panel of distinguished judges will select the A-list winners. Judges
include: Andrew M. Seybold, president of Andrew Seybold Group; Mark Desautels,
vice president of the Wireless Internet Caucus at CTIA; Perry LaForge,
executive director of the CDMA Development Group (CDG); Iain Gillott,
president of iGillottResearch; Joseph Braue, vice president/director at CMP
Integrated Marketing Solutions; and Jan Dehesh, vice president, enterprise
market development for QUALCOMM.
