Trace Technologies Premiers New Wireless Assisted-GPS Solution
OMAHA, Neb. & LAS VEGAS-- April 12, 2005 -- Trace Technologies, LLC (OTCBB:GWLK) unveils the TRACE asset tag, a new asset tracking system fusing advanced GPS, wireless and Internet together into one integrated product. Trace announced the product to attendees at the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) in Las Vegas, Nev., April 8, 2005.
The Trace technology combines Qualcomm's SnapTrack(TM) Wireless Assisted-GPS (MPM1)(TM), the TRACE Asset Tag and the ReFLEX wireless network allowing users to locate critical assets and people quickly and easily in environments conventional GPS loses accuracy. Delivery of the product will begin in June 2005.
The TRACE Asset Tag is one of the world's smallest, most sensitive portable location devices and can be located inside buildings and vehicles, urban canyons, under heavy foliage and in other blocked environments where conventional GPS doesn't operate.
Trace's system includes the following features:
Improved accuracy using SnapTrack(TM) wireless assisted GPS
Large coverage area - 92% of the U.S. population, using ReFLEX networks
High precision location in autonomous mode
Indoor/outdoor/urban canyon functionality
Long battery life (up to one year in deep sleep, two weeks in typical operation)
Support for built-in motion detector
Geo-fencing capabilities
Person-portable, pager-sized devices
Users can make a location request via the Internet, and the location response from the Asset Tag can be viewed as a street address on a map. Similarly, geo-fences can be established on a map and sent to the remote unit over the Internet. Other notifications, including motion alerts, low battery and geo-fencing violations are also available remotely to the user over the Internet.
The system has a number of different applications and is ideal for users with concerns about safety and security. Applications include: asset security, first-responders, roadside assistance, medical emergencies, mobile commerce, games and entertainment. The system includes a monthly service for air-time and location requests, tiered to meet the needs of users of various sizes, and will be available directly from Trace and from selected Value Added Resellers. Trace will be announcing partnership and value added reseller (VAR) agreements in the near future.
