Diversinet Adds Mobile Token Support for Blackberry Business Phones

Toronto, ON April 21, 2005 -- Diversinet Corp. (OTCBB: DVNTF), a leading provider of mobile device security and authentication solutions for the mobile data ecosystem, today announced support for the popular BlackBerry 7100™ Series of business phones, developed by Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM). Owners of the BlackBerry 7100™ Series of business phones can now use the Diversinet MobiSecure Token for strong authentication operating through the Diversinet MobiSecure Authentication Service Center.

Diversinet's latest MobiSecure Token enables application providers, mobile network operators and security service providers to deliver one-time-password-based two-factor authentication services to both enterprise customers and mass-market consumers via BlackBerry®.

“Reliable, standardized, strong authentication services have become essential to both corporations and the average person as they conduct more and more everyday online and mobile transactions,” says Kashif Hassan, President of Diversinet. “Since more than one billion people around the world are already carrying mobile phones, it makes sense to leverage popular mobile handsets such as BlackBerry as a vehicle to deliver mobile-optimized strong authentication services.”

MobiSecure Tokens from Diversinet simplify the replacement of costly and complex traditional hard tokens, USB tokens and smart cards for strong authentication in the enterprise environment. In addition, the MobiSecure Token can enable a more secure online experience for mass-market Internet users for services such as Web-based banking and e-commerce. Adding support for BlackBerry will give application providers, mobile network operators and security service providers another tool in their arsenal to develop strong authentication applications.

BlackBerry provides integrated phone, e-mail, text messaging, browser, organizer and corporate data applications in one integrated device, while providing mobile professionals with more ways to stay in touch with work and home. For more information on how the Mobisecure Token operates with the BlackBerry 7100 Series of business phones please go to www.diversinet.com. In recent years, the rise in malicious attacks, combined with the growth of mobile computing and the increasing openness of most corporate networks, has increased the need for strong authentication for remote access, user log-in, and single sign-on. Strong authentication, which requires users to possess additional physical hardware in addition to a password, is an essential component in protecting against the various forms of security attacks prevalent today. With more than one billion individuals globally already carrying mobile devices, the mobile phone is a natural and ubiquitous two-factor authenticator.

As a leading mobile authentication service provider, Diversinet provides its customers with cost-effective, mobile-optimized strong authentication products and services that reduce identity theft and improve brand trust by leveraging more than 1.5 billion consumer and enterprise mobile phones as strong authentication tokens. The Diversinet MobiSecure Suite of Tokens and MobiSecure Authentication Service Center (MASC) offerings are available on most intelligent mobile device platforms, including Microsoft, RIM, Symbian, Palm and Java-based phones.
