SUN-GAMING Releases Spin for Prizes Advertising Platform for Mobile Phones

With all the buzz in the mobile application industry, many carriers are looking for ways to increase their revenue through value added services to the customers and especially pre paid customers. Sun-gaming, an Orange Premium Content Partner, has released a mobile application that allows customers to exchange prepaid phone credits for prizes from advertisers.

Wayde Callender, CTO and a director of the company said in an interview, "This application represents the first ‘sticky’ mobile phone application that will enable carriers and advertisers alike to generate repeat business from customers through their mobile phones. The possibilities for increased ARPU to carriers are endless. The issue now becomes whether this is going to be a carrier licensed and branded solution or a third party branded solution in which the carriers advertise. I can see from the carrier perspective that having these types of applications as part of their content portfolio is a real value proposition to their internal market developers. It is the gateway to customers purchasing other services in much the same was as SMS was a gateway to the creation of the content download market."

The application has been released in the US last week with a European release set for May 2005 with partners Diomedia and SinTex.
