InfoWave Solutions Announces Latest Version of Location-Based Asset Management Software

Flexibility
Currently, most location-based software solutions are provided only with a single hardware technology vendor. Customers are left with the option to either accept the software that comes packaged with their chosen tracking technology, or to launch into an expensive and time-consuming development project to create their own custom solution.
Activate 3.0 provides clients with the freedom to choose the active RFID or RTLS hardware platform that makes the most sense for their application, while leveraging the best possible software to utilize this raw information. Value Added Resellers (VARs) also benefit from this flexibility through their ability to leverage a single software solution that can plug into different hardware vendors. By remaining hardware-agnostic, InfoWave Solutions has created a location-based software solution that focuses on the true needs of the end-users.
Scalability
Nearly all enterprise-level location and tracking projects are initiated with pilot systems. But when it is time to expand that system to a true enterprise-wide deployment, major shortcomings are often exposed. On the other hand, smaller projects have no need for the complexity of an enterprise-level solution, and many customers are intimidated by enterprise-level pricing and configuration complexity.
Activate 3.0 breaks new ground in the location-based software market by offering a fully-scalable architecture. Activate Lite is ideal for smaller projects, and can be up and running in less than 15 minutes. Activate Pro offers additional features and is suitable for mid-sized projects as well as pilot installations. Finally, Activate Enterprise offers a web-based interface and a robust database-driven architecture for corporate-wide access and powerful reporting and analysis. The most powerful feature, however, is the painless migration path—all configurations and stored data can be migrated from one version to the next, making system upgrades a breeze.

Location-based technologies can be applied to solve a seemingly endless variety of problems. But most of these location-based systems are showcased using fancy mapping tools that certainly look impressive but fail to deliver on the real day-to-day customer needs.
