Handmark® Wins Two Smartphone & Pocket PC Magazine 2005 Best Software Awards

KANSAS CITY, MO — Handmark®, a global leader in mobile media, today announced that the MONOPOLY® Game and TRIVIAL PURSUIT® Handheld Edition game for Windows Mobile™ Pocket PC have won 2005 Best Software Awards from Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine (formerly Pocket PC magazine), a leading industry publication.

The MONOPOLY Game for Pocket PC, developed under license from Atari Interactive, Inc. and the Hasbro Properties Group, the intellectual property development arm of Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS) won the category of Best Board Game in the competition. The TRIVIAL PURSUIT Handheld Edition game, developed under license from Atari Interactive, Inc. and Horn Abbot Ltd., owner of the TRIVIAL PURSUIT game, won the Best Trivia Game category.

“The Handmark MONOPOLY Game and TRIVIAL PURSUIT Handheld Edition game for Windows Mobile Pocket PC capture all of the fun of the original board game versions,” said Douglas Edwards, Handmark cofounder and executive vice president. “The enduring popularity of these games, combined with the innovative technology Handmark has used to bring them to the Windows Mobile Pocket PC platform accounts for their continued success with mobile users.”

Eighty members of the Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine Board of Experts judged Windows Mobile products in 130 Pocket PC, Smartphone, and Developer categories to determine finalists and winners. These experts run prominent web sites, serve as Microsoft MVPs, and write for Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine and other organizations. The judges are all volunteers, and none are employed by Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine.

Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine publisher Hal Goldstein said, “The annual Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine Best Software Awards helps users select software that best suits their Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Smartphone needs by honoring companies that produce outstanding software. The awards process is a huge 6-month undertaking involving the experts of the Windows Mobile community and over 3000 Pocket PC and Smartphone products.“

Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine’s New Products Editor, Diane Dumas, and the Board of Expert judges spent two months selecting 768 award nominees, about 25% of the Smartphone & Pocket PC magazine Encyclopedia of Software and Accessories. Christian Forsberg of www.businessanyplace.net and Bob Katayama of www.han-d-solutions.com headed a team of experts to determine nominations for Developer Software.

The Handmark MONOPOLY Game and TRIVIAL PURSUIT Handheld Edition game for Windows Mobile Pocket PC are priced at $19.95 (USD) each and are currently available for download.
