City of Miami Takes Code Enforcement Live Online With CityView From Municipal Software
Victoria, British Columbia, December 12th, 2005— Municipal Software (TSX-V:MSZ) is pleased to announce that the City of Miami, Florida has completed its implementation of CityView to manage its Code Enforcement activities. Now that CityView is in use, Miami can expect to have a greater ability to track its caseload, so that it can more efficiently serve its constituents.
According to Conrad Salazar, Project Manager for the City, “CityView provides us with the ability to manage our Code Enforcement activities and offers our citizens better customer service.” At the click of a button, CityView forms and reports are deployed to a browser format allowing the business process for Code Enforcement to be used by an intranet specifically established for this function. Salazar continued, “Inspectors are using laptops to capture and report on Code Enforcement activities in the field, allowing information to be captured in real time over the City’s wireless infrastructure. This allows staff to have full access to all case and property-related information. Because this is a live link, all information entered by the inspectors is immediately available in the City offices and vice versa.”
Neyda Galvez, Assistant IT Director for the City, stated, “CityView’s flexible platform has provided us with a solution that meets the needs of our users. Because the product integrates with the 311 solution, we can anticipate the intake and tracking of complaints to become more efficient and enable the City to provide superior service in Code Enforcement.” Ms Galvez added, “Now that CityView is live, we are considering what other departments and processes may benefit from the solutions that Municipal Software can provide.”
Iain McLean, Chief Executive Officer for Municipal Software commented, “We are delighted that the City of Miami is now live. This was a team effort and our project group worked closely with the City to make sure that we met their high expectations.” He added that, “the connection of inspectors in this way generates time savings for the City. Any municipality wanting to improve their caseload efficiency should be looking at this CityView application.”
