AMCC Joins Wi-Fi Alliance
SUNNYVALE, Calif.--Dec. 20, 2005--Applied Micro Circuits Corp. (AMCC) (NASDAQ:AMCC), a leading vendor of embedded processors and network processors used in wireless access points and wireless access switches, today announced that it has joined the Wi-Fi Alliance, a global non-profit organization devoted to promoting the growth of wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs). As a member of the Wi-Fi Alliance, AMCC can directly participate in activities shaping the future of the wireless market as well as global industry events either sponsored or organized by the Wi-Fi Alliance.

The Wi-Fi Alliance, formerly WECA, is an organization of companies dedicated to ensuring interoperability of IEEE 802.11 products to the wireless community.
