MFORMA and Atari Release Monopoly Tycoon

CANNES, FRANCE, 3GSM WORLD CONGRESS — February 14, 2005 — MFORMA Group Inc., a leading global publisher of mobile entertainment, and Atari, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATAR), a leading global publisher of video games, today announced the availability of a new wireless game based on Atari’s Monopoly Tycoon, one of the most popular simulation PC games of all time. Monopoly Tycoon is an economic strategy game about building a real estate empire and economically wiping out opponents. The wireless version of Monopoly Tycoon is adapted from Atari’s classic PC game and based on Hasbro’s original Monopoly board game.

Monopoly Tycoon features amazing 3D graphics of a city in which players create business empires. You compete for control of industries and city blocks as you amass a fortune while trying to outmaneuver up to five other would-be tycoons. You can demolish an old building or construct a new city landmark from the ground up. You must develop your own strategy as you decide to stack ‘em high and sell ‘em low or go for quality. Create, destroy, or refurbish any building. Build your own office buildings out of multiple components. Become a landlord or a cutthroat retailer. The choice is yours, because making money is all that counts in this game of intrigue that never plays the same.

“Monopoly Tycoon is a very exciting mobile gaming experience,” said John Brimacombe, MFORMA president. “It gives you action, drama, intrigue, and lots of options as you play against simulated opponents. The design of Monopoly Tycoon is state-of-the-art, challenging and enticing users to take part in an extremely interesting world of high powered real estate schemes and high stakes decision making.”

“Tycoon games continue to be extremely popular and with Monopoly Tycoon’s built-in mass-market fan base, we believe it will be a sure winner in wireless,” said Wim Stocks, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Atari, Inc. “Mobile users will recognize the utilities and railway stations from the original Monopoly game, but the graphics, level of detail, and expanded gameplay of Monopoly Tycoon for mobile users, engages a whole new generation of players.”

“This is the first time in wireless where a major brand is attached to the very hot category of tycoon games,” said Scott Jensen, VP of media and licensing for MFORMA. “I believe Monopoly Tycoon will prove to be the hottest tycoon game ever in mobile.”

Monopoly Tycoon is scheduled for release in Europe next month, and will soon be available in other markets worldwide.
