Ekahau Announces Location Client Program For Wi-Fi Device Manufacturers
Saratoga, CA, February 24th, 2005 EKAHAU INC. today announced a new
partner program, Located by Ekahau (LBE). Ekahau partners signing into
the program will get free access and distribution rights to Ekahau
client software and source code. By adding the Ekahau software to Wi-Fi
devices, such as wireless VOIP phones, specialty PDAs, or wireless
hospital devices, these devices can be accurately tracked within the
Wi-Fi coverage area by using the Ekahau Positioning Engine system.
Ekahau is leading the Wi-Fi RTLS (Real Time Location System) market with
its award winning Positioning Engine software and Wi-Fi tag solutions,
which work with any standard Wi-Fi networks. Unlike competing TDOA or
active RFID solutions, Ekahau does not require installation of any
overlay infrastructure, antennas or sensors, but can be deployed as a
software-based solution over existing Wi-Fi network. Wi-Fi RTLS enables
several location-based services, such as asset and people tracking,
enterprise resource and workflow management, as well as locating devices
during wireless E911 calls. The Ekahau RTLS solution is targeted for
indoor and campus areas where GPS does not perform adequately.

In addition to enabling location tracking for mobile Windows devices,
the LBE program includes source code for any ANSI C-language compliant

use our own standard Windows, Linux or Palm -clients, or instead build
their own embedded drivers by using our reference code library. As the
code base is very small, less than 60kB, practically any mobile Wi-Fi
device can now easily be location-enabled."
