IONIC Releases RedSpider LOBOS, the World’s Only OGC-OLS Solution for Location Enabled Enterprises
IONIC has released RedSpider LOBOS, the richest, most flexible, and open solution for rapidly deploying location
based services for mobile devices, web applications, and enterprise processes. RedSpider LOBOS is the OLS
compliant evolution of robust, scalable, and clusterable technology that has been in production for several years.
RedSpider LOBOS has been implemented in the first and largest 3G telecommunications network serving over 11
nations/2 million users. LOBOS allows you to create innovative business applications such as geospatial call desks,
road side assistance, customer management, asset trackers, fleet management, people finder, geostatistics, best
path finder, toll-collect and many more innovative applications that require a geospatial dimension.
RedSpider LOBOS is the world’s only solution capable of bridging the world of Open Location Services (OLS),
Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), and legacy location engines and offers location processing engines,
geocoding, intelligent map generation, routing and geographic content.
Additionally, LOBOS provides powerful and flexible APIs for rapidly wrapping any location engine for publishing
through OLS interfaces. LOBOS works seamlessly with existing OGC Web Map Services, enabling ADTs of business
objects such as Points of Interest (POI) and landmarks to be overlayed on third party basemaps. A companion
product, RedSpider StudioLS, provides a complete development kit for designing and deploying mobile and web
client applications that can access any remote OLS service.
