Moderati Selected to Power Ringtones and Wallpaper For New MVNO, Amp’d Mobile

Mobile entertainment company Moderati™ announced that it will power the delivery of all ringtones and wallpaper to Amp’d Mobile®, the first operator solely using CDMA2000 1xEV-DO (Evolution-Data Optimized) for its wireless service launching later this year. The deal brings together two companies with expertise in creating and marketing products to young and savvy music fans.

“We’re excited to be working with a carrier that really gets what the mobile consumer wants,” said Carolynne Schloeder, president of Moderati. “They recognize that data services are integral to their offering, and we’re thrilled that they’ve chosen us as their partner to deliver compelling content.”

Amp’d Mobile, set to launch nationwide later this year, will leverage CDMA2000 1xEV-DO to offer unique, compelling, and relevant content plus traditional wireless phone services with a completely fresh user interface and fully-customizable experience designed specifically for the 18-35-year-old audience. Amp’d will offer a variety of exclusive content for their launch, much of which Moderati will provision and deliver in addition to its full catalog of polyphonic ringtones, songtones of the master recording, voice tones and graphics. The exclusive content will include extreme sports images related to the carrier’s team of athletes in surf, snow, skate and motocross.

“We’re going to be delivering a completely different fully integrated mobile lifestyle experience with burst entertainment packaged in a new way,” said Seth Cummings, VP, wireless content and internet services, Amp’d Mobile. “Moderati will play a key role in our vision by providing a rich catalog of youth-oriented ringtone and wallpaper files as well as infrastructure delivery services.”

Moderati, formerly known as Faith West, has long been the dominant player in ringtones on BREW carriers via its flagship service, Modtones®. Moderati’s song tone application, Modtones DJ, is a finalist in the BREW 2005 Developer Awards.
