MIRS Signed an Agreement WithTelmap as Technology Provider for GPS-Based Navigation Solution


Herzlia, June 20, 2005 – MIRS (www.mirs.co.il), one of Israel’s leading cellular operators officially announced that they have signed an agreement with Telmap (www.telmap.com), a leading technology provider of mobile mapping applications, to provide a mobile navigation solution for the MIRS GPS-enabled phones (iDEN-based technology).

MIRS will provide a brand new service called Voice Navigator, using satellite GPS positioning together with Telmap’s core PolarisTM mapping and navigation technology. Subscribers to the service will be able to find their way quickly and easily to any destination through pinpoint accurate turn-by-turn navigation with graphic, text and voice instructions and clear, precise maneuver maps. All geographical data is delivered in real time via the wireless network providing mapping, routing and content coverage for the local market. The service will be provided on the new Motorola i860 phone and will soon be extended to other models.

In cooperation with MAPA, the local data provider, MIRS Voice Navigator subscribers will also enjoy the benefit of an extensive choice of Points of Interest (POI) such as restaurants, bars, hotels and more. Users can look up, save to address book and direct dial to thousands of POIs from within the application, effectively utilizing their cellular phone as an all-in-one, multipurpose device for all their mapping, navigation, and voice service needs.

In addition to navigation, the application also provides the latest in advanced dynamic mapping technology. Users can search for locations on full color maps, zoom in and out, and pan. For any point located on the map, users can also get more information, search for nearby POIs, save the location to the address book or navigate to it, all within the application on their cellular phone.
