QUALCOMM Announces the Commercial Release of Multiple Hosting Solutions
SAN DIEGO, March 7 -- QUALCOMM Incorporated
(Nasdaq: QCOM), the leader in mobile communications for the transportation
industry, today announced the commercial availability of new hosting solutions
for its T2 Untethered TrailerTRACS asset management solution. Customers can
now either directly integrate with the T2 Untethered TrailerTRACS solution
using AS/400 dispatch systems, or can operate the system through a
QUALCOMM-hosted, Web-based version.
"QUALCOMM is dedicated to providing solutions that improve efficiency,
visibility and security for our customers," said Norm Ellis, general manager
and vice president of transportation and logistics, QUALCOMM Wireless Business
Solutions. "The availability of a complete end-to-end untethered trailer
tracking solution will allow them to fully integrate their dispatch software
and immediately reap the benefits of a proven asset management system."
Both options for the T2 system will provide customers with an expansive
and scalable solution that is designed to meet their trailer tracking needs
now and well into the future. Key T2 support features include:
Position and events monitoring (loaded/unloaded,
connected/disconnected, door open/close, geofence break)
Configurable trailer parameters, including reporting frequency
Configurable geofences and alerts
Setting up trailers, landmarks and users
Position and event history
Landmark proximity queries
Reports on trailer status, event history and battery status
Mapping of positions, geofences and event locations (Web only)
Application programming interfaces for third-party application
integration (AS/400 dispatch system only)
Since 1989, QUALCOMM has provided its tethered tracking system to more
than 35,000 trailers within the NAFTA region. TrailerTRACS provides trailer
ID, drop-and-hook notification, location, status and information when
connected to an OmniTRACS(R) mobile communications solution equipped tractor.
The untethered trailer tracking system offers these same features plus a
variety of other options, including door and cargo sensor, geofencing,
over-the-air update capabilities, multiple delivery solutions to Web and AS400
platforms, and visibility of assets and loads whether or not a trailer is
connected to a tractor.
QUALCOMM is the industry's global leader in providing high-value wireless
