MetroPCS(TM) Enhances Services, Offers New International Text Messaging and Multi-Line Plan
DALLAS, March 28 -- Continuing its commitment to provide
worry-free wireless with the convenience and calling features consumers
demand, MetroPCS announces the launch of TextTalk Global, an unlimited
international SMS service package and multiMETRO, a multi-line plan that
provides significant savings to subscribers.
MetroPCS is the first to offer unlimited text messaging internationally.
"Consumers today are more value-oriented than ever, TextTalk Global and
multiMETRO are two examples of how MetroPCS is listening and responding to
consumers' needs," said MetroPCS founder and CEO Roger Linquist.
Unlimited International Text Messaging:
Reflecting the growing trend of text messaging among wireless users,
TextTalk Global allows MetroPCS subscribers to send and receive an unlimited
number of text messages internationally for the flat rate of $3 per month.
Subscribers may also select unlimited domestic text messaging for $3 per
month. Together, the two service packages allow MetroPCS subscribers to send
an unlimited number of text messages internationally and in the United States
for a flat rate of $6 per month.
While many wireless providers offer text-messaging, most charge on a
per-message basis and the rates are significantly higher for international
messages. Similar to the company's "Domestic Text-Talk" package, MetroPCS
offers truly unlimited text messaging with no restrictions for a low, flat
rate per month.
multiMETRO:
With MetroPCS' multiMETRO Plan, one person on the account selects the
$45 Ultimate Unlimited calling plan featuring unlimited local calling, long
distance, text messaging and picture messaging plus enhanced voice mail,
three-way calling, caller ID and call waiting. Up to four additional persons
can join the multiMETRO account and save $10 per month on their $35, $40 or
$45 unlimited plans.
Friends, family members, co-workers can activate a multiMETRO account
either by purchasing a new handset, reactivating a previously used MetroPCS
handset or by moving a current MetroPCS account to a multiMETRO account. One
person on the multiMETRO account must pay for all monthly service fees for the
entire account by using the recurring Auto Pay payment method. That person's
credit or debit card will automatically be billed each month for all members
on the account.
MetroPCS will launch with 43 international carriers and plans to reach
more than 300 carriers worldwide by the end of 2005. MetroPCS is the only
wireless service provider to offer unlimited local and nationwide long
distance calling for a low, flat rate of $40 a month with no contract.
