NewVoiceMedia Names Telisma as Strategic Partner for Voice Recognition
LAVERSTOKE, UK: Intelligent network services vendor NewVoiceMedia announced today that it has selected Telisma as its strategic partner for voice recognition. NewVoiceMedia Chief Technology Officer Richard Pickering said, “Telisma has impressed us with the quality and robustness of its teliSpeech technology. We offer multi-tenant, telco-based platforms and services, so it’s vital to us that our speech recognition is world class, multilingual and scalable. Telecom operators have very high reliability expectations about the technology which they deploy in their networks, and Telisma’s focus and proven ability in this area put them ahead of the competition. We believe our partnership with Telisma will significantly reinforce our overall offer, and greatly enhance the calling experience of everyone whose phone calls are handled by our technology.”
NewVoiceMedia will begin integrating Telisma’s speech recognition technology into its core offerings immediately, and the first versions of Telisma-enabled applications are expected to be ready by July 2005. These will be based on NewVoiceMedia’s ground-breaking carrier grade XML soft switch for telecommunications operators and service providers. This platform allows telcos and service providers to offer a range of high value network-based telecoms applications to their enterprise customer base. NewVoiceMedia offers its own call centre and call treatment application set which sits on top of the platform.
By using XML, CCXML and VoiceXML APIs, NewVoiceMedia’s telco partners, or systems integrators can quickly and cost-effectively create custom applications which link into enterprise customers’ IT systems at many points. It is now possible to more tightly align the treatment of incoming calls with a company’s systems and processes than ever before, resulting in huge efficiency improvements, and an enhanced caller experience. XML skills are widely available, allowing deep access to call treatments to an unprecedented range of companies, and creating exciting new opportunities for systems integrators to drive value for their clients.
Commenting on the announcement, Laurent Balaine, Telisma CEO, said, “We believe that open standards in the IT world are making possible a whole range of exciting new services, such as those that run on the NewVoiceMedia platform. We’re delighted that teliSpeech meets their stringent requirements.”
