Precision Dynamics Showcases Clincher Smart Band RFID Solutions for Positive Inmate Identification

SAN FERNANDO, Calif.--(May 13, 2005--Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), a leader in Auto ID Wristband Solutions, will showcase its RFID (radio frequency identification) products for inmate identification at correctional facilities during the American Jail Association Expo, in Kansas City, Missouri, May 15-19.

PDC's Clincher(R) Smart Band(R) RFID Wristband System brings a new level of identification and tracking to law enforcement and correctional facilities. RFID wristbands contain a microchip and antenna, which allow information to be written to and retrieved by RFID scanners. The system provides one of today's most advanced methods of automatic identification, with unmatched tracking and processing features.

Clincher RFID Wristbands can be indexed to instantly retrieve and verify each inmate's photo and ID information from a facility database. Other features and benefits include:

  • Identification data is electronically detected when an inmate scans through portals with RFID readers attached, facilitating contact-free identification and tracking throughout the facility.

  • Positive verification is achieved through a link to an inmate's photo/ID database, which helps detect band tampering and helps prevent erroneous releases.

  • Wristbands can be configured to debit inmates' accounts each time a purchase is made through the commissary.

Clincher Smart Band enhances correctional facilities' overall inmate safety and security. Positively identifying inmates is the first step to achieving efficient and effective operations.

"Administrators as well as Corrections Officers agree our Smart Band technology safeguards their facilities against inmate litigation due to the time and attendance functions that are built into the RFID Smart Band," comments Tom Foster, PDC Clincher Sales Specialist. "We have the ability to track every action within the facility, from inmate medication dispensing to the correction officers cell tours. These functions, merged with the customizable reporting capabilities, make this solution very attractive to our customers."
