Connexion2 and Cambridge Positioning Systems Agree a Strategic Partnership
(Mobile Location Services 2005, Barcelona, 17 May 2005) Connexion2, pioneers of the highly acclaimed Identicom lone worker device, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with high accuracy location technology company, CPS, to explore opportunities to integrate CPS technology in its future products.
As part of its development strategy to enhance future products, Connexion2 are planning to include CPS' Matrix - a location technology that deliveries high accuracy positioning - in its range of wide area community solutions.
Eighty percent of verbal and physical attacks against lone workers occur indoors - and in an emergency situation locating a lone worker quickly and accurately is essential. Connexion2 is aiming to enhance the location capabilities of its products irrespective of the worker being indoors or out. CPS Matrix technology provides such a capability - it can provide a location fix to less than 100m across all environments. Further accuracy down to building level can be achieved by locally mobilised personnel managing a response escalation.
