ABI Research Launches Advanced Mobile Applications Research Service
Oyster Bay, NY - May 25, 2005 - ABI Research is pleased to announce the release of the latest edition of its Advanced Mobile Applications Research Service (formerly Wireless Operators Research Service).
With 3G mobile network deployments gaining traction in some regions of the world, 2.75G (EDGE) vying for market share in others, and advanced applications appearing for both, the need for regular updates on the wireless operators market is greater than ever.
Like other ABI Research services, this is an ongoing subscription suite that includes Research Reports, Market Updates, Industry Databases, Asia Research reports, ABI Insights and personal access to ABI Research analysts.
The most significant new addition to the Service, according to Kenneth Hyers, principal analyst of global wireless operator research, is the interactive database component. Users can perform their own "data mining" through a familiar browser interface, sorting and exporting the desired information at will.
"The databases are updated constantly," says Hyers, "and their interactive nature means that subscribers always have access to fresh information, practically as soon as we do. This is unique among offerings from technology market analysts, and provides an unequalled resource for equipment vendors, operators and anyone involved in the wireless industry."
For example, suppose a user wants to research a particular operator. Where do they operate? What is their market share? What airlink technology do they use? Which equipment vendors supply them? What is the value of their contract awards?
Or, the query might be technology-based. What countries offer CDMA? How many CDMA operators operate in each? How many subscribers are there on CDMA networks?
The database will provide up-to-the-minute answers.
Each ABI Research Service also includes a quarterly Market Update, which provides qualitative reporting and interpretation of recent market developments. The Market Update in this edition, according to Hyers, examines Location-Based Services, as well as the opportunities being generated by new partnerships between handset vendors and music download services.
Founded in 1990 and headquartered in New York, ABI Research maintains global operations supporting annual research programs, intelligence services and market reports in automotive, wireless, semiconductors, broadband, and energy. For information visit www.abiresearch.com, or call +1.516.624.2500.
