Survey, Map, and Stumble Wireless Networks with This Latest VisiWave Site Survey Release
Kalamazoo, MI November, 3, 2005 -- AZO Technologies, Inc. today announced a new release of its wireless LAN site survey product, VisiWave Site Survey v1.4. Many features were added to our Windows and Pocket PC wireless network site survey tool. In addition to providing in-depth coverage information on the associated access points, you can now track the wireless coverage of neighboring networks and rogue access points. While analyzing the results, you can also create many views of the coverage by focusing on individual access points or related groups of access points. We have also given you the ability to perform initial site surveys with a single, temporary access point.
VisiWave Site Survey is an advanced site survey tool that provides data collection and visualization capabilities not found in any other existing product. The VisiWave Site Survey product takes advantage of advanced location tracking technology and combines that with high-powered data visualization and reporting capabilities to create a complete wireless LAN site surveying solution.
VisiWave Site Survey is becoming the application of choice for independent network consultants and internal IT departments charged with deploying, maintaining, and enhancing 802.11a/b/g wireless networks. Our goal is to provide our customers with a product focused on performing wireless site surveys. That focus has allowed us to create a highly effective tool to do the job you need done at the right price.
VisiWave now allows you to simultaneously track and visualize both associated access points and competing access points discovered during a site survey--the so-called stumbling of wireless networks. This allows you to visualize overlapping access point coverage, discover the existence and location of rogue access points, and determine the effects of outside/neighboring access points--all professionally done with a full-featured and easy-to-use commercially supported product.
Another new feature added in this release is the ability to filter access points included in the views of your wireless coverage. The new filtering options allow you to select individual access points or related groups of access points when analyzing the survey results. This allows you to easily highlight the location of rogue access points, the effect of neighboring wireless networks on your network, and the effect of collisions within your own network due to overlapping coverage areas.
Also new in this release is a method for performing initial site surveys. You can now easily perform a site survey with a single, mobile access point. By performing several site surveys with the mobile access point in different locations for each survey, the results can be combined giving you a clear look at the wireless coverage as if you had gone through the expense and effort of deploying the entire network of wireless access points.
