ACCESS Announces NetFront™ SDK v3.3
November 21, 2005 – ACCESS Co., Ltd. (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 4813), a global provider of mobile content delivery and Internet access technologies, today announced the availability of NetFront Software Development Kit (SDK) v3.3. NetFront SDK v3.3 is a software development solution that facilitates the porting and customistion of ACCESS’ advanced NetFront browser for mobile and beyond-PC devices including home Internet devices like set-top boxes and digital televisions. NetFront SDK v3.3 supports advanced new features including a pop-up blocker, a search/translation bar, Web data manager, and a new software keyboard that supports predictive Front End Processing (FEP).
The NetFront SDK v3.3 solution includes NetFront browser core binary, documents as well as sample source code for the implementation layer and for the browser UI. NetFront SDK v3.3 customers can port NetFront onto a variety of Internet capable devices such as set-top boxes, digital televisions, IP phones, and game consoles.
In combination with ACCESS’ Direct-Connect technology, NetFront SDK v3.3 allows developers to create HTML-based UIs that can directly control the target device’s functions. This means that developers can use general HTML authoring tools to develop UIs, significantly accelerating the overall development process. NetFront SDK v3.3 will be available in January.
NetFront SDK v3.3 will be exhibited at ACCESS DAY 2005 to be held at the Tokyo Westin Hotel on Nov. 22, 2005.
