Mowave Launches GAY.COM Mobile i-mode Site on O2 UK
(London, England) October 10, 2005 -- Mobile content provider Mowave announces the launch of the GAY.COM community mobile portal on 02’s upcoming i-mode content menu in the United Kingdom. The GAY.COM mobile service is part of an ongoing content partnership between Mowave and Planet Out, Inc., owners of the GAY.COM Internet site. GAY.COM is the world’s largest online gay community, in addition to being the market leader in the UK.
The addition of the GAY.COM mobile service on O2 i-mode will be Mowave’s third GAY.COM launch in the United Kingdom, adding to the GAY.COM services Mowave currently operates on Vodafone Live! and Orange. The combined three services will reach an estimated 75% of UK wireless content consumers; making the GAY.COM mobile brand the largest combined online and mobile gay content service in the country.

The launch on O2 is another important step toward bringing the mobile component to all of our users,” Rohde continued.
Mowave Inc., formerly known as Mobile Media International, operates mobile content services across Europe and intends to launch additional GAY.COM services in France, Italy, Spain and Germany.
GAY.COM Mobile will be part of O2’s starting lineup of i-mode content services. “We’re really excited that GAY.COM will be featured in the i-mode O2 UK launch.We have launched i-mode services in seven countries so far and have found it to be a robust platform that provides an excellent user experience,” said Giles Richter.
Mowave is planning a variety of features for the GAY.COM i-mode site, including news and information, wallpaper, video, games and community features such as personals, chat, message boards, classifieds and blogs. Mowave specializes in bringing existing media brands to the mobile environment, often creating a completely new type of user experience optimized for mobile.
The GAY.COM mobile service can be accessed on mobile by selecting the GAY.COM site on the O2 i-mode official content menu.
