MindSpring Announces Data Miniaturization Extension for QUALCOMM's BREW Solution
SAN JOSE - APRIL 04, 2006 - WindSpring, Inc., a data miniaturization innovator,
today announced the immediate availability of its patented Data Miniaturization
Technology (DMT) for wireless applications developed for QUALCOMM's BREW solution.
The WindSpring DMT extension for BREW permanently reduces mobile phone applications
into the Micro Data Format (MDF), which unlike compression, enables full data
access and manipulation (including high-speed seek, search, edit and display)
while miniaturized, without the need to enlarge the data to its original size.
Developers can quickly integrate the WindSpring extension to extend the functionality
and performance of existing applications previously limited by phone hardware
capabilities. By increasing the functionality of applications while maintaining
size, developers can extend their applications to a broader range of devices
while offering additional functionality. In addition, developers can significantly
expand their application offerings to serve a wide range of device functions
and features.
