Odyssey Software Broadens Availability of Its AppCenter(TM) Application Control Manager
ROCHESTER, NY -- 04/12/2006 -- Odyssey Software, Inc., a leading provider of mobile device management solutions, announced today it will make its AppCenter application control manager available for distribution on all devices that are powered by Microsoft® Windows Mobile for Pocket PC and Windows CE operating systems. Since its introduction three years ago, AppCenter has been exclusively available on, and distributed by, a single industrial device manufacturer. This announcement of general availability by Odyssey Software will pave the way for additional manufacturers, VARs, ISVs and OEMs to sell and distribute AppCenter.

"Many of our end-user customers and partners have to support a heterogeneous device population, and have expressed the importance of broad AppCenter availability across device manufacturers in order to maximize end-user productivity."
Odyssey Software's AppCenter application control manager restricts end-user activity -- via both active and passive approaches -- to a set of administrator-defined authorized-only applications on Microsoft Windows Mobile for Pocket PC- and Windows CE-based devices. It actively monitors all running applications and will automatically close unauthorized applications, as well as control the availability of the start menu and supplemental input panel on an application-by-application basis. AppCenter also functions as an enhanced application launcher or a centralized menu system for the authorized set of applications and can automatically launch approved applications upon startup at defined intervals or in a defined order.
