Alltel's Office Sync Delivers Mobile E-mail and Data to Smart Devices

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., April 18 -- Alltel (NYSE: AT) , owner of America's largest wireless network, announced today that it is launching Office Sync, which allows users to send and receive e-mail in real time from their Palm OS(R) and Windows Mobile(TM) devices.

Office Sync also enables customers to view their calendars and contacts while on the go.

"Office Sync provides customers with the information they need to remain productive from anywhere on America's largest wireless network," said Wade McGill, senior vice president of wireless product management for Alltel. "It's fast, easy to install and use, and empowers Alltel customers with another option for staying in touch while away from their home or office."

Office Sync is initially available on the Palm Treo(TM) 650 and the UTStarcom PPC-6700, a Windows Mobile 5.0 Wi-Fi-enabled Pocket PC device. Both all-in-one devices are equipped with a powerful Intel(R) processor, backlit QWERTY keyboard and Bluetooth(R) Wireless Technology.

There are two versions of Office Sync. For individuals and small businesses, the Personal Edition delivers e-mail, calendars and contacts from the customer's personal desktop to his or her smart device. For larger businesses, the Enterprise Server Edition integrates Office Sync with a corporate server operating behind a secure firewall to deliver the information to customers' devices. Both editions are available from Alltel for $39.99 per month, including unlimited data.

Office Sync is powered by SEVEN, a global provider of software that enables mobile operators, Internet e-mail providers and service providers to offer their subscribers secure, low-cost, real-time access to business and personal e-mail applications.

Alltel is owner and operator of the nation's largest wireless network and has more than 10 million wireless customers. http://www.alltel.com/
