WirelessDevNet.com Press Release

Hurricane Tracking for Wireless Devices

MINNETONKA, Minn., Aug. 29 -- Digital Cyclone, Inc. has announced that its My-Cast(R) version 5.0 mobile weather service now includes the ability to track tropical storms and hurricanes. The new Hurricane Tracker feature allows users to see the projected path of a hurricane in real-time with satellite cloud loops focused directly on the eye of the storm. Also included are StormWatch plots and warnings for affected counties, advanced lightning tracking and alerts from the National Weather Service virtually as they are issued.

Since 1995 the number of hurricanes has doubled, and meteorologists studying this cycle predict up to another 20 years of elevated weather threats for approximately 85 million U.S. coastal residents. "There's no doubt that America's weather is becoming increasingly severe and potentially deadlier than ever," said Paul Douglas, Chairman of Digital Cyclone. "With the new Hurricane Tracker feature, My-Cast users get that extra margin of safety, the critical hurricane information they need delivered directly to their mobile phone, to get a head-start and take appropriate action."

Other features of My-Cast 5.0 include NEXRAD(R) radar loops that show the speed and direction of approaching weather, visible and infrared satellite imagery, plus hourly and extended forecasts for up to 7 days. Users can zoom into and pan across high-resolution weather maps centered on any location in the continental U.S. Favorite locations can be saved and new locations easily added. With GPS-enabled phones, location-aware My-Cast delivers information for the precise current location of the user automatically. Dynamic graphics change with the weather, displaying current conditions at-a-glance, including temperature, precipitation, cloud cover and more.

"Users can actually see the exact location of a storm, where it's headed and how fast it's moving," said Douglas, who is also Chief Meteorologist for WCCO-TV, a CBS-owned affiliate in Minneapolis/St. Paul. "When threatening weather is in the area, people should never rely on just one news source for the weather. My-Cast works even when the power is down - when TV and computers are rendered useless."

My-Cast is a low-cost subscription service available on all major carriers with data plans. More information on My-Cast and free personalized web weather is available at http://www.my-cast.com, or by calling 866-669-2278.

Founded in 1998, Digital Cyclone(SM) is an innovator of wireless applications for mobile devices. Products include My-Cast(R) - the first wireless weather service, Pilot My-Cast(R) for aviation, and Weather Scout(R) for anglers and outdoor enthusiasts.
