NeoMedia Signs Strategic Alliance With Italian Innovator Mobedia
FORT MYERS, Fla., and MILAN, Feb. 13, 2006 -- NeoMedia Technologies, Inc. (OCT BB: NEOM), a publicly-listed U.S. company and an innovator in wireless services and patented technologies that provide automatic links to Mobile Internet-based information, today announced a strategic alliance with Italian mobile marketing pioneer Mobedia (www.mobedia.it).
This announcement follows NeoMedia’s recent acquisition of Boston-based mobile visual search innovator, Mobot and further reinforces the company’s commitment to the mobile marketing space.
Mobedia was founded in Milan in July 2005 by a group of ex-Unilever marketers. With a collective network of business relationships covering a wide range of sectors -- from fast moving consumer goods to network operators and from media to advertising and promotion agencies -- Mobedia is now positioned to expand its mobile marketing offerings in Italy and across southern Europe.
The new strategic relationship with NeoMedia is a co-marketing partnership agreement, which allows Mobedia to integrate NeoMedia’s direct-to-mobile-internet PaperClick® technology into all of its campaigns.
Mobedia’s general manager, Riccardo Bellati, explained, “We believe PaperClick is a real breakthrough technology that offers brand and media owners a unique opportunity to enter into a constructive relationship with their customers, connecting them to the mobile web direct from printed ads, posters and brand packaging.”
