Defywire Announces Product Upgrade
Herndon, VA – July 24, 2006 – Defywire, the leading provider of access to critical student data for the K-12 education market, today announced a product upgrade for their Mobile Guardian application – version 3.5.
Mobile Guardian 3.5 combines both new product features and increased functionality for its users. One of the new and exciting features available in version 3.5 is the combining of each of the eight previously separate applications into one single software application. Now, users can search for a single student and access all relevant information across multiple applications including schedule, grades, attendance, student information, incidents and others – eliminating the need for multiple searches.
Defywire’s Mobile Guardian 3.5 also includes a web-based management interface that allows school IT professionals to manage the mobile environment by creating custom access for different users such as administrators, teachers and security officers. The management interface also allows for student information to be easily accessed among schools within the same district – simplifying an often overwhelming task for school administrative staff when dealing with student transfers.
Defywire’s Mobile Guardian 3.5 also expanded the functionality of its Mobile Guardian Grades application. The new upgrade makes it possible for teachers to record grades on their wireless device – anytime, anywhere. What used to be a paper-intensive, time-consuming process has been reduced to one-step, saving time and increasing grade reporting efficiency.
“We’re very excited about the new product features of Mobile Guardian 3.5,” said Jim Sondel, CTO of Defywire. “Our development team created the new features in direct response to customer need, as part of our commitment to providing the best possible product for our customers and creating the solutions they want most.”
