Comverse Selects NMS to Provide Voice Technology for InSight(TM) Advanced Messaging Platform
FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--July 31, 2006--NMS Communications (NASDAQ: NMSS), a leading provider of communications technologies and solutions for converged and mobile networks, today announced that Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), has chosen NMS's Open Access(TM) platform (www.nmscommunications.com/OpenAccess) as the underlying voice technology for its InSight(TM) value-added services environment.
Comverse is a leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia communications services. Comverse's InSight is an open, next-generation, future-proof and cost-effective service environment. It is a single, integrated system that can supply and support all the services -- both existing and planned -- that wireless and wireline operators can offer, hosting them on a completely redesigned, high-density, low-cost platform.
Comverse chose Open Access because of its robust application development environment, which speeds the development of software and hardware applications while maintaining telecom-grade standards for reliability. Open Access delivers media processing and network signaling solutions for creating enhanced voice, data and video applications and services. These open, scalable, high-density building blocks give developers the processing power and capacity needed to rapidly develop an ever-increasing array of next-generation services -- now and in the future.
"Many of the world's major equipment providers use our Open Access technology to dramatically reduce time-to-market for their voice, data and video solutions," said John Orlando, chief marketing officer for NMS. "Comverse is an important and longstanding NMS partner, and the company's use of our Open Access products further validates our reputation as a leading developer of innovative media processing solutions."
